A24 has released the new trailer for the new film starring James Franco ‘The Disaster Artist’.  Franko also directed the film and is a co-producer.  The film is about the development and production of Tommy Wiseau’s film ‘The Room’.  This film is considered the worst film ever made and has developed a cult status amongst its fans.  It falls into the “It’s so bad it’s good” category.

Official Synopsis via Wikipedia:

The film depicts the meeting and early friendship of the actor Greg Sestero and Tommy Wiseau, the actor, writer and director behind the 2003 cult film The Room, a film often hailed as the Citizen Kane of bad movies, the troubled making of it and their respective careers after the surprising success of the film.

The film also co-stars Dave Franco as Greg Sestero who wrote the book that the film is based on and also Seth Green and Alison Brie.  It is also written by Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber who have co-written 2 of my favorite films in the past 10 years, ‘500 Days of (Summer)’ and ‘The Spectacular Now’.

I have never seen ‘The Room’, but I’m well aware of how infamous it is.  I will tell you this.  This trailer looks so unbelievably crazy that I’m going to have to see ‘The Room’ before I see ‘The Disaster Artist’.

‘The Disaster Artist made it’s debut at South by Southwest earlier this year in March of 2017, and has recently been around the festival circuit and most recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) yesterday Sept. 11, 2014.  A24 , who has distributed Franco’s previous film ‘Spring Breakers’ as well as writers’ Neustadter & Weber’s ‘The Spectacular Now’
